New user and wouldn't mind paying the fee if I can get it to work for me. Currently trying free version without success. Getting error: Export failed:
Access to the path'C:\Program Files(x86)\TickStory Lite\BRENTCMDUSD.csv' is denied. I have gone into Settings and changed directory to MyDocument folder but it will not reflect that. I've tried several workarounds such as reinstalling and resetting directly before anything else, installing on a different computer but always the same error. Any idea's?
Unable to export.
Re: Unable to export.
Hi Rick,
The error is occurring because you have not specified a full pathname for the exported file. When you have not specified a path, Tickstory attempts to write the file to the current path - in your case, that's in the Program Files directory. Of course, Windows doesn't allow this unless you are in Administrator mode (hence the "denied" message). To fix the issue, just specify a full pathname such as C:\Users\YourName\Documents\{Symbol}.csv and this will fix the problem.
You will probably find these two videos useful as well since they detail the process:

Re: Unable to export.
Well, that problem is somehow resolved. I now have another question though. I have downloaded one weeks worth of Crude Oil NinjaTrader tick data using the pre-defined Ninja Trader Tick Format and then when I checked the data I see that volume is at 100 on every tick for the week. Unusable this way. Is there a mistake I am making or is this as good as it gets ? Thanks
Re: Unable to export.
Hi Rick,
Ninjatrader accepts only integer/whole volumes and the volumes from the Crude Oil derivatives are in millions (i.e. they are in fractions). Therefore, the export format forces a rounded integer.
If you need the volumes, you could do something like using a multiplier in Excel.
