HI there all,

I am trying to download the FTSE 100 from tickstory which in dukascopy has this symbol name: GBRIDXGBP. Unfortunately, the Alpari mt4 for the same index has got a different symbol name, which is: FTSE 100.

As soon as I start the strategy tester, I get the "not data available" error because the symbol name is different and the mt4 does not recognize it.

I have tried to use the mt4 data editor in order to change the symbol name and trick the mt4 (I am not very good in this... but I tried) but I received the same error.

Is there a way to make it work?

Hi Daviden,

There is indeed a way to make it work. You will need to "map" the Dukascopy symbol name to your broker's symbol name by using the "Map to" field in the MT4 Export Settings. The field is described in the manual here:

You will need to input the FTSE100 symbol name exactly as it appears in your MT4 terminal (including case, any punctuation, etc).
