Tickstory

I'm having an issue with Tickstory when exporting historical data to MT4. After downloading tick data and exporting it with the correct settings, my MT4 Strategy Tester fails to run properly, either no data appears, or I get mismatch errors. I've checked the history folder, restarted MT4, verified GMT/DST settings, and tried different currency pairs, but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered this before or knows a fix? Any help would be appreciated!

If you are new to MT4 back-testing, the most important thing to do before proceeding any further is making sure you are getting 99.9% modelling quality on your report. This result ensures that you are correctly using TIckstory's tick data. Please see this video for the basic steps on how to back-test with MT4 and this section in our FAQ to resolve any issues if you are not getting the correct modelling quality. Once you do this, you will no longer have mismatch errors.

If you continue to have other issues with your EA, we highly recommend you firstly test on a basic EA such as "MACD Sample". If you manage to get results on this EA, this means that your own EA is not trading for some reason and you'll need to do further investigation about why this is.
