Tickstory

Hi,
I've downloaded and installed the "Tick Data Suite" AFTER the installation of "Tickstory (v1.7.2) on my computer. When I try now to open MT4 with the Tickstory Launcher (F8) it automatically (only) opens with the "Tick Data Suite Launcher".
How can I avoid this conflict?

Hi Bernard,

Birt's TDS always takes precedence over the Tickstory launcher if it is found in the MT4 installation folder. If you are not longer using TDS or wish for Tickstory to be the main launcher, you need to either delete or rename the tds.exe executable in your MT4 installation folder.

Thx for the info.
Now I renamed "tds.exe" and I also moved it on the desktop but Tickstory still opens only with the "Tick Data Suite Launcher". Is there any other way to avoid this without deinstalling "TDS"?

I'm not sure how this is possible Tickstory checks for the existence of tds.exe in the installation folder you have specified in the settings (File->Settings->MT4 Settings). If it exists, it will use it, if it doesn't it will use the Tickstory launcher. The only thing I can imagine is that you perhaps have several installations of MT4 and didn't rename the tds.exe in the correct folder? The other thing to confirm - are you running MT4 via the Tickstory launcher (i.e. by pressing F8 within Tickstory) or are you double-clicking a short-cut somewhere? You must be launching from Tickstory for the Tickstory launcher to activate.

Ahh, okay: There are 3 places with "tds.exe"
C:\Program Files (x86)\eareview.net\Tick Data Suite
C:\Program Files (x86)\Tick Data Suite
C:\Program Files (x86)\MetaTrader 4 Admiral Markets UK Ltd
...and I had to rename the one especially in the MT4 folder (and change the resp. properties/file path of the TDS shortcut): Now I can use both systems!

That's correct - you need to rename the one in the MT4 Installation Folder. This is the only place that Tickstory checks for it.
