MT5 Optimization not working (Custom symbols not allowed on Cloud network)

Hi there,

So i have created an EA and wanted to run an optimization test on MT5 using a custom symbol with Tickstory data over the last 5-10 years as the regular data quality on MT5 only went back 15 months with 100% data quality then drops of which isnt good enough hence me trying to use tickstory to get that sweet 100% data quality.

However, every time i try to run an optimization test using a custom FX symbol with Tickstory I get the following error, which is linked below, saying that it's not allowed to use a custom symbol on a cloud network which doesn't make sense as what is the point of using Tickstory if not to get 100% data quality to run optimization tests on.

i hope someone has run into a similar issue or knows of a workaround as I've been trying to find a solution for a while now with no luck.

Hi Tom1992,

I believe it is not possible to do real tick optimizations on the MT5 Cloud Network. This doesn't appear to be your real problem though - you will note that the highlighted message "No optimized parameter selected" says your optimization has not set any start/end/step parameters which appears to be why the back-tester is not proceeding. If you fix this, it should continue.
