Speed up testing using SSD drive

Post by KirBiz »

Hi
In wich part of work with tickstory we may have benefits of using SSD drive?
Any real expirience?
Im just thinking to move from VPS with SSD-boost to pure 100% SSD. But not sure do i really need it to speed up backtesting
May be some other way to speed up backtesting for my 6 core 2150 MHz with 32GB RAM?

Thanks in advance for sharing

Hi Kizbiz,

We'll leave this one for others to answer as they may have done some actualy metrics on this. Answering in theory, it would make some small difference since the software is accessing large amounts of disk-based data. That said, if your EA is slow at processing this information, then you are going to get much more "bang for your buck" from increasing CPU and memory.

Hope this helps.
